The Farmhouse
Buy only option - was £400,000 now £325,000 (four bedrooms)
This Grade II listed farmhouse is the crown jewel of the farm. This beautiful building will inspire everyone a different way.
You could keep it as it is, a grand building that towers over the Horninglow Road. The old original floor on the ground floor is amazing and there will be modernizing to be done.
Alternatively you may wish to use the property as an investment. Renting it as it is would achieve good rental, however for the developer, we have also managed to get planning permission to convert the farmhouse into three attached cottages which would require minimal work with no foundation work etc. The property would thus suit both owner occupiers and investors / developers.
Details of the development
Chestnuts Farm, one of the oldest set of buildings in Burton upon Trent, was refurbished to consist of nine barn houses, the original farmhouse (Grade II Listed), and a plot of land for a further barn or as gardens for the farmhouse spread together over 1.37 acres of land.
All the barns were completely demolished and then rebuilt, giving you peace of mind of a "proper" home with adequate foundations and solid construction. No more insulation problems so like the previous occupants you won't need the extra fur!!!
It is very rare to have "new built" barns but rather than making changes, the barns were restored back to the way they looked before; new barns, old look. The traditional look has been maintained by carefully using reclaimed bricks to match the original look. The brick designs were copied and the barns were replaced as close to the old footings as possible. Even the windows were put back exactly as before, in the same place and the same sizes.
Location
Located just a mile from the town centre, with local amenities nearby. A small private road off Horninglow Road takes you to your dream barn with its own parking.
The black brick road adds to the atmosphere as does the careful landscaping. You will instantly notice the ample parking and the peacefulness of the whole farm.
Inside the barns
Walk through any of the nine barn doors and inside you will find a modern contemporary setting. Matching beautiful doors open to show that not just from the outside, but inside as well each barn has its unique features preserved while adding modern living features that make a home complete.
Delightful kitchens designs in modern materials and with black granite effect tops and integrated units will appeal to urban senses of style and taste.
All barns have either two or three bedrooms, fully integrated, full fitted modern kitchens including washing machines, fridge/freezers and dishwashers
Porcelain tile, oak wood flooring and dark beige carpets are featured throughout the ground floor and all bedrooms are carpeted in dark beige.
