The Technical Stuff!
In 1979 the barn was re-engineered to Building Regulation standards. All the wall panels and roof cladding were removed, the timber frame repaired, jacked up and new foundations and floors with damp proof course built underneath. The walls were re-panelled and a new inner cavity wall constructed.
Finally an extension was built for the kitchen and the whole property re-roofed in red clay tile.
The property has “Permitted Development Rights” subject to the usual planning permission and listed building consent. There is potential to convert the loft and agreement has already been obtained for Velux style windows to the rear subject to specification.
A new east gable has just been completed in oak and glass.
